SNORKELING The Ylang Ylang reef
We offer snorkeling equipment for rent-explore the world underwater! Enjoy our Ylang Ylang House Reef, Eagle Ray Point and Blue Rock just in front of the hotel. A variety of fish and coral illuminate the ocean just steps away! Keep your eyes open for white spotted eagle rays, cow nosed rays, turtles, moray eels, angel fish, puffer fish, parrot fish, triggerfish, and a variety of tropical fish. Mask, snorkel and fins rental: Half day $10 / Full day $15

SCUBA DIVING at Tortuga Island
Available upon request. This activity varies depending on the season. You can choose one or two tanks. Also Discover Scuba Diving experiences available. Please ask us for details.

TORTUGA ISLAND Boat Tour Snorkeling & Beach Day (Full day tour, all-inclusive)
Cruise along the coast for a beautiful 50 minute boat ride to Tortuga Island. Jagged volcanic rock spills into the sea to create a dramatic contrast with the brown sand, red rocks and crushed shells that make up the variety of beaches along the way. You will have the chance to see dolphins, turtles and other marine life along the way. Upon arrival to the calm waters of Tortuga Island, you will have your first snorkeling session. The crystal waters are surrounded by volcanic rock, home to one of the best snorkeling sites on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast.
After your snorkeling adventure the boat takes you to the white sand beach. While lunch is being prepared, grab a cold drink and take a stroll along the beach or swim in the calm crystal waters. For lunch the guides serve fresh BBQ fish, chicken or a salad. The rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy. Take part in a volleyball game or rent a kayak to discover the other secluded beaches of the island. Or for the more adventurous, take a hike to the top of the island for some spectacular views of the Gulf of Nicoya and the surrounding islands. Join the group for a second snorkeling session at a different spot on the reef or take a siesta under a coconut palm. As the day comes to an end you will board the boat for the picturesque ride back to Montezuma.
INCLUDES: Lunch of BBQ fish, chicken or salad, grilled potatoes and vegetables, bread, fresh seasonal fruit, soft drinks (unlimited), water (unlimited), beer (2 per person), bilingual guide and snorkeling equipment (fins, mask and snorkel).

SURF LESSONS
Surfing on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica is a rewarding experience for beginners and pros alike. Join our surf instructor, Mauricio, for a 3 hour surf lesson: learn the basics in great conditions! He will guide you step by step in how to maneuver like a pro. $40 per person (Only swimsuit and smiles needed!) Times of classes vary depending on tides.

HORSEBACK RIDING on the beach
Enjoy a 3 hour ride through seven beaches, where you can gallop and enjoy the adrenaline or just take it slow and enjoy nature. The tour stops for a break at the waterfall, one of the seven falls in the world that drops into the ocean. The price is $35 per person including water and fresh tropical fruits. The time of departure varies depending on the tides.

HORSEBACK RIDING to the Florida Waterfalls
Enjoy a 3 hour ride through the Costa Rican countryside. You'll ride through mountainous roads and sweeping pastures with zebu/brahma cows, stopping for a break at the swimming hole of La Florida waterfall. The price is $40 per person including water and fresh tropical fruits. The tour is available at 9:00am and 1:00pm.

ZIP-LINE CANOPY TOUR
Discover the 1320 meter long, 9 cable & 11 platform zip-line tour of Montezuma with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, the famous Montezuma waterfalls and the jungle canopy you'll be swinging through!
Departures: 9:00am (1 hr 30 min-no stop at the waterfall), 10:00am & 3:00pm (2 hrs-includes short hike to the falls for a refreshing dip in its swimming hole. The price per person is $40.

CABO BLANCO NATURE RESERVE
Cabo Blanco is a nature reserve located 7Km from our Resort. It was the first National Park founded in Costa Rica and is great for hiking. Here you are likely to see monkey, parrots, and other tropical flora and fauna. It consists of 1,272 hectares of protected land and 1,790 hectares of ocean. The park is open from 8:00am to 4:00pm (Closed Mondays & Tuesdays).
Tour departure: 7:30am
Price: $65 per person
INCLUDES: Transportation (A/C mini-van), park fee, beverages and naturalist guide (Spanish-English bilingual).

CURU WILDLIFE REFUGE
We recommend the guided tour to Curu Wildlife Refuge. The naturalist guide will point out the animals and explain the tropical vegetation. The Curu Reserve is a working farm that has been managed by the same Costa Rican family for many generations. In Curu you will be able to hike and appreciate the flora and fauna like spider monkeys and scarlet macaws. There is a large variety of wild animals that live there in their natural habitat and coexist with the plantations and cattle farm. The bay of Curu is a picture-perfect tropical beach with white coral sand and calm waters.
Price: $65 per person (minimum 2 people)
Recommended items: Long pants, long sleeves, insect repellent and a swim suit (if you would like)

MALPAIS / SANTA TERESA SUNSET TOUR
Malpais / Santa Teresa’s long stretches of beaches, best known for their world class surfing, are located on the western side Nicoya Peninsula. This area is exquisite for the tropical sunsets of Costa Rica. Discover these beaches in a comfortable environment: simply sit back, relax and enjoy the sunset over the Pacific Ocean.

SPORT FISHING
The abundance of marine life just off the tropical Pacific Coast makes Costa Rica one of the world's top fishing destinations. The coastal waters are home to yellow-fin tuna, mackerel, jacks and mahi-mahi. As you move out into the deep sea waters you may find sailfish, large wahoo, and possibly marlin. The coastal fishing boat is equipped with outriggers and top of the line fishing gear. While on board the guides serve you food and drinks for a memorable experience. Whether a fisherman at heart or a fisherman’s first start ... you’ll have an incredible fishing experience!

ATV ADVENTURES
The adventurous way to explore Montezuma's surrounding areas is by a self-guided ATV tour (All Terrain Vehicles). Drive along country roads and through tropical forests where you can spot monkeys, birds and other wildlife. Stop at one of the secluded beaches for a dip in the ocean (but please don't drive on the beach). Just a 45-minute ride away you’ll find the surfers paradise of Malpais and Santa Teresa-rent a surfboard and hit the waves. If you’re a hiker Cabo Blanco Reserve is down the road from Montezuma in Cabuya.
